I have stumbled upon an article that described the way a programmer work and think better than I understood how I worked.
My wife always complained that I never call or sms her at while I am at work, although I am guilty, this article explain why it is so difficult for me to remember to call or sms her.
The article title is “Programming is Like a Dream” It explains that To write a program the programmer needs to so the bigger picture and understand how all the parts, functions, data… fits and affects each other.
When the programmer starts he/she needs to remember all this information and piece it together. This process can take up to an hour or even two. Because of this if you work for 30min and need to take a break you will never get much work done. While if you work for 3hours without taking a break you can get a lot done.
This is also probably where the programmer and Coffee come together. The coffee helps us to work and concentrate for longer stretches hence making us more productive.
To go back to the sms during the day, I go into such a deep trance/dream state that I do not think of anything else while programming. By asking her to read the article made her more understanding to my situation.
Here is the article http://www.independentdeveloper.com/archive/2009/03/17/programming-is-like-a-dream

Dovado have released the following information
A new firmware is now available for download.
We strongly recommend you to upgrade to this release! We have corrected an issue which was pointed out to us by a few of you out there. The issue was that the UMR might lock itself up (“crash”) during operation. NOTICE : We strongly recommend you to upgrade to this release! In releasing this firmware, we have removed versions 4.0 and 4.0.1 off the web and have incorporated the release notes into this version, thus giving you a better total overview of our 4.x progress thus far.
Aside from that, we have confirmed support for Sprint’s Sierra Wireless Compass 597. For those of you with a Huawei 21Mbps modem, we have added support for the E182e model in this release as well, however, what you should bear in mind is that the Huawei 21Mbps modems do not output more than 2.5-3Mbps on the downlink (though uplink is very healthy!).

The latest firmware 4.0 released on 2009-08-10 supports a usb GPS devide that will allow you to track your router where ever it go.
How ever there is a few flaws with this.
1. Why would you keep a usb gps in a device if you took it with out permission
2. The router can be reset and you would not be able to track it any more and the gps can be plugged back in.
3. If your router is taken to a different country it might just be cheaper to buy an new one instead of buying expensive tickets and sitting x housr in a plane to go and take it back
But there are advantages, if the router is inside your car or a locked box, container… with a gps you can track your car…
New features:
GPS Tracking/Positioning. More info available on www.dovado.com/gps
Wake-on-LAN : Allows you to bring computers on your LAN out of standby mode. You can do this via the web interface, scheduler or an SMS command.
Internet Traffic Consumption notification via e-mail (SSL is not supported….yet)
Monthly traffic counter reset date can be adjusted (default was first day of month).
Traffic counter can be reset manually.
Entire configuration can be saved/restored.
SMS Phonebook, practical for saving phone numbers when sending out an SMS.
Telnet API for Home Automation and SMS (further documentation available soon).
Optional offline mode by default for USB modem Internet connectivity. Modem won’t connect until manually instructed to (via web or SMS) do so.
User interface idle time-out period raised from 5 minutes to 10.
Updated WLAN driver.Fixed issues:
Sony Ericsson modems now support PIN code and signal strength.
Cosmetic changes.
Ethernet WAN DHCP client (known issue with Telia).
Improved stability.New modems:
Modems currently with limited support!
They do not offer any helpdesk assistance for these as they are still under development!

A blonde is watching the news with her husband when the newscaster says “Two Brazilian men die in a skydiving accident.”
The blonde starts sobbing “That’s horrible!!! So many men dying that way!”
Confused, he says, “Yes dear, it is sad, but they were skydiving, and there is always that risk involved.”
After a few minutes, the blonde, still sobbing, says, “How many is a Brazilian?”

DOVADO Released new Firmware for the UMR the only neotel capable router on the planet.
Below is a list of modems supported
To my knowledge the umr is one of the routers with the widest range of supported usb modems and if you have a modem that is not supported give me or them a shout and they will probably add support for the modem.
The new firmware fixed the issue where the router shows the signal as “no service” it now displays “Not Available” for the neotel Prime device

Cellfind launched a new revolutionary traffic product.
It sends you a map indicating what speeds the cars are travelling at on the roads between your home and work giving you the ultimate tool for avoiding the traffic jams.
You tell miTRaffic what times you want your traffic reports in the morning and in the afternoon. Before you hit the road you quickly view what the traffic is dosing and paln your route according to that.
You can with incredible accuracy see if the traffic on the highways are slower than 30kmph, Between 30kmphg and 59kmph , between 60kmph and 89kmph
and faster.
Together with this map you will also get one of the most comprehensive list of traffic incidents available in South Africa.
You can also request a ad-hoc traffic report where you can request the traffic for a specific area. But if if you are a Vodacom or mtn Subscriber you can request the traffic for your current area with out having to specify where you are. miTraffic will pick-up where you are and send you the traffic for your area.
Here are a sample of what the map looks like.
Shows you where the slow roads are

There is a image that accurately reflects the government in South Africa. Or that is what I think.
In my opinion this need to be done on different levels. I also think that there should be a culture change in all the races! But especially the Black community as it is my opinion that they don’t care if they live in a sewage dump or not. They will continue throwing the all their waste anywhere including their back yard.
This is not only the black community, you get people from the white community that also do this. I am not a racist there are lots of black people I have more respect for than certain white people.
To get back to the being proud of being a South African. If this is the case people will look after the country, and look after themselves.
That is why we do not need a president that is accused of rape and 38 cases against him of which most is corruption.
How can we have respect for our president and our country with a president like this?
What image does this send out to the rest of the world? The mascot image?

Afrikaner guy, an Aussie, a beautiful girl and an old woman are sitting in a
train. The train suddenly goes through a tunnel and it gets completely dark.
Suddenly there is a kissing sound and then a slap!
The train comes out of the tunnel.
The old woman, beautiful girl and the Afrikaner guy are sitting there looking
perplexed. The Aussie is bent over holding his face, which is red from an apparent slap.
The old woman is thinking: “That Aussie must have tried to kiss that girl and
got slapped.”
The Aussie is thinking: “Damn it, that Afrikaner guy must have tried to kiss
the beautiful girl. She thought it was me and slapped me instead.”
The beautiful girl is thinking: “That Aussie must have moved to kiss me, but
kissed the old lady instead and got slapped.”
The Afrikaner guy is thinking: “If this train goes through another tunnel,
I could make another kissing sound and moer that Aussie again!”

For all those people that are frustrated with the neotel device that can not share the internet over the network I have great news.
I connected the manufacture of the neotel device and a manufacturer a router that supports USB 3G devices, in a attempt to get a router that support the neotel device.
They have come back to me on 09-04-2009 saying that have confirmed that it is working and that they are sorting out a few problems with the signal strength.
The firmware will be release as soon as there issues are sorted out.
